The Crypto Trends; Paving the Way for More HBCU Investors
The cryptocurrency phenomenon has gained popularity across several minority groups in the US, especially among Black Americans.
Marquise Francis of Yahoo Finance says data shared exclusively by Harris Poll with USA TODAY shows 11% of white Americans report ownership of cryptos compared with 17% by Hispanic Americans and 23% by Black Americans.
Many of our fellow Black Americans are tapping into the market to better themselves and their families.
Kori Hale of Forbes says in some ways:
the Black community sees cryptocurrencies as a decentralized financial structure that will allow them to grow their wealth. This is critical and might be how we build our economic power after facing years of ostracism from traditional banking institutions.
Who will dominate Web3 and cryptocurrency?
From Web1, which was a form of read-only internet, came Web2, the current phase of the internet that allows for more interaction and collaboration. So, what’s next? While it has not yet materialized, experts say the next phase, Web3, will be a more decentralized internet characterized by blockchain technology, cryptocurrency, and non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
It is expected that the Gen Z population will leverage the decentralized finance opportunities of Web3 more than any other group since they are currently more willing to invest in crypto.
Isabelle Lee of Insider reports that a study by Engine Insights reveals that most Gen Z investors think they can become millionaires via crypto opportunities.
In contrast, millennials are not as willing to go all in with crypto.
Using $HBCU to help HBCU students, alumni, and supporters to understand and participate in crypto
I have launched a new social coin called $HBCU which will be released via Rally, a social token and NFT platform that allows creators and organizations to create communities and keep their earnings. My motive behind creating the $HBCU coin is to empower HBCU students, alumni, and supporters by broadening their understanding of the cryptocurrency market. It will also expose students to networking opportunities and help them take courses on the crypto industry and more. Plus, holders of the $HBCU coin will get benefits like earning weekly Rally rewards.
The future is decentralized finance, and the best way to maximize its potential is to empower HBCUs so they can conquer the space.
